Selection criteria & procedure

The initial screening process will evaluate the eligibility of submitted applications, considering only formal criteria such as the required degree level, adherence to the submission deadline, completeness in English, and limitation to one application per open call.

Eligible applications will be evaluated by a committee and ranked based on the following criteria:

  • Academic achievement and potential, including the adequacy of the academic background, grades, distinctions, research experience, scientific conferences, publications, and English proficiency.
  • Overall quality of the CV and other experience, including other academic competences, professional and/or volunteer experience, and international experience.
  • Quality of the video presentation, with a focus on motivation and alignment with the program’s objectives.
  • Quality of the recommendation letters.

The selection committee will create a main list and a reserve list of applicants. Some applicants may also be invited for an interview in English to further assess their motivation and alignment with the program’s objectives. No more than 10% of the students on the main list can come from the same nationality.

Students on the main list are eligible for an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship or a Consortium scholarship. If any students withdraw from the main list, the highest-ranked students from the reserve list will be notified and upgraded to the main list.

Applicants whose applications have been rejected have the right to appeal. More information on the appeals process will be provided by email for non-selected applicants. Contact: master-meta4-0@listes.ec-lyon.fr

Please note that the grounds of the appeal must be based only on new elements or facts which were not taken into consideration when the application was originally analyzed. It should be noted that the Quality Assurance Board may reject an appeal which is not submitted within the ten (10) days period after the results mailing date or which does not contain the necessary new justifications or documentation.
